Quality Assurance in Smart Factories
Cybercom's Innovation Zone developed a mobile application in React Native that gives the user the ability to order a pair of customizable VR-glasses.
Challenge
The challenge of this project was to create a mobile application that could communicate with a physical miniature factory that produces VR-glasses out of cardboard. One of the purposes of this project is to inspire young people to technical studies and to support the development of Operator 4.0 with the use of new edge technology.
Solution
Cybercom's Innovation Zone developed a mobile application in React Native that gives the user the ability to order a pair of customizable VR-glasses. The application also provides the user with information about the different machines condition in the factory as well as the functionality to do a quality test on the ordered pair of VR-glasses to see if they have been correctly assembled. Such a quality check is done by photographing them from different angles and using image recognition in Azure's Custom Vision Service. The app also informs the user of the process of the resources used for the product, among some others features.
Effect
The application made a significant benefit to the factory since it gives commands to it and illustrates the possibility for any user to operate an automatic factory with just a smartphone.
