How to integrate sustainability into your business strategy part 2 of 5
As a consultancy firm with no manufacturing, our direct negative impact from a global sustainability perspective is limited.
However, we still have opportunities to better manage the emissions that are under our direct control with the objective to reduce them to zero.
So, let’s get straight to the point – how do we do it?
This is how we create tomorrow’s company
- In 2019 we committed to the Science-based targets initative External link, opens in new window. (SBTi) to reduce our own negative impact. This means we have committed to set science-based climate targets aligned with a net-zero future, responding to what the latest climate science indicates is needed to limit the worst impacts of climate change. We make sure to set verifiable science- based targets through the SBTi, which independently assesses corporate emission reduction targets against scientific best practice.
- In 2020 we introduced a new internal KPI to measure how enabled and empowered our colleagues are when it comes to sustainability: Value-driven, goal-oriented, and deeply committed employees seek us out with the belief that we as solution providers can satisfy their deep-seated desire for meaningful work. With this promise comes great expectations and failing to deliver on our promise could affect our ability to attract and retain employees, and of course this pushes us towards creating tomorrow’s company.
How we create tomorrow’s company is not only limited to reducing our negative impact. It’s also about creating a company that contributes to society, have courageous leaders that are focused on sustainability, can communicate it and together with their colleagues move the company towards the targets.
For us, tomorrow’s company is also about providing and offering colleagues a place and an environment where they can innovate, develop, and deploy technology in order to secure long-term competitiveness and growth within the planetary boundaries External link, opens in new window..
