More than 1,000 Cybercom consultants trained in digital sustainability

Published: 2020-11-18

To meet the demand for sustainability solutions and its commitments according to the digitalisation consultancy industry’s roadmap for a fossil-free future, Cybercom has carried out a subject knowledge enhancement initiative within digital sustainability. More than 1,000 Cybercom consultants have now strengthened their expertise.

“As digitalisation consultants, helping others see and mine the potential of technology is our greatest opportunity to have an impact. Our digital sustainability course increases our employees’ knowledge and understanding of the role of technology as an enabler of the global sustainable development goals. A thousand digital sustainability trained consultants are proof that innovation and sustainability are a major and vital part of our DNA as Makers of tomorrow,” says Niklas Flyborg, CEO of Cybercom.

The course was designed to meet the following Cybercom goals:

  1. Enhance our consultants’ understanding of sustainable development and how it relates to digitalisation and innovation.

  2. Equip our consultants with knowledge and tools that they can use in their own roles and assignments.

  3. Accelerate Cybercom’s positive impact and increase the proportion of assignments that contribute to meeting our clients’ sustainability challenges.

Cybercom was the first among its industry colleagues to train its employees in sustainability. It was one of the commitments expressed in the digitalisation consultancy industry’s roadmap for a fossil-free Sweden, which was handed over to the Swedish government in March 2019.

“Within the framework of the digitalisation consultancy industry’s roadmap, we agreed a minimum level of knowledge among our employees regarding the impacts of digitalisation from a climate and sustainability perspective. We have also agreed to carry out training initiatives to ensure that our employees meet the minimum level within one year after they are hired. Cybercom has implemented the training initiatives and our consultants now have far beyond the basic level of expertise required,” says Ingemar Jansson, Head of Sustainability Strategy & Business Development at Cybercom.

Cybercom partnered with the KTH Executive School to design the course, which involves leading scientists and experts from Sweden and Finland.

“Cybercom’s leadership role in its own and the industry’s development programme in digital sustainability is valuable. The transformative power of new digital solutions is central to meeting the need for sustainable development. It is also an effective way for business and communities to enhance their competitiveness,” says Staffan Movin, Program Director, KTH Executive School.
